Minor League Player Tried a Creative Way to Avoid an Out and Fans Loved it

A Class AA Minor League Baseball game between the Arkansas Travelers and the Wichita Wind Surge produced a viral moment on a seemingly routine play.

In the sixth inning, Travelers first baseman Robbie Tenerowicz hit a ground ball to third base. On pace to be out by multiple steps, the throw came in up the line, pulling the first baseman off the bag. To avoid the tag, Tenerowicz turned around and started running back towards home plate. As space ran out and he realized his fate, Tenerowicz turned toward the first baseman and jumped into him as though he was a basketball player attempting to draw a foul. He then gestured to the umpire, as though he was asking for a whistle.

Here’s the hilarious clip.

Who says baseball isn’t supposed to be fun?

Fans chimed in with plenty of jokes on social media.

Bravo, Mr. Tenerowicz. Minor league baseball is the best.
