Sunderland supporters have taken to social media to share their delight after Patrick Roberts signed a new two-year deal with the club. The former Manchester City playmaker signed a short term deal with the club in January and was instrumental in helping win promotion back to the Championship.
Roberts kept his cards close to his chest after the League One play-off final, revealing he was set to hold talks with Alex Neil in the coming weeks and the Sunderland boss has got his man. The 25-year-old was an exciting outlet on the wing and his display under the Wembley arch was a clear message to the Black Cats hierarchy.
It's been quite the week for Sunderland supporters with Charlie Methven selling his shares in the club and Lynden Gooch, Anthony Patterson and now Roberts all signing new deals on Wearside.
