HYDERABAD: Unperturbed by the attempt on his life on Thursday, AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi hit the campaign turf in UP on Saturday.
Owaisi decided to continue his election campaign and stay put in UP till the first phase of polling on February 10. On Friday, he met Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla and attended Parliament session. Though party leaders, including his younger brother, MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, advised him to take ‘Z’ category security provided by the Centre and also take a short break from campaigning in UP elections, Owaisitold them that he will not stop following an attempt on his life and addressed rallies.
Taking a jibe over Imran Masood being denied a ticket by the SP, Owaisi made a fervent appeal to Dalit, Girijan, BC, downtrodden and minority community leaders to come into the AIMIM fold. Owaisi also said BJP government was not to be seen when over 30 people died of coronavirus in 27 days in Chaprauli. “There is no higher education facility after Class 10 in Chaprauli. Is this the development done by Yogi baba (UP CM),” he wondered.
