Military medals of huge sentimental value were stolen by callous thieves during a break-in at a house in Salford. The burglars were disturbed by the householder returning home but got away with a number of items including three medals.
They include medals recognising efforts in the war in Afghanistan, as well as the Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal. Police say the burglary happened some time before 10pm on the evening of Saturday, April 9.
Officers believe three burglars broke into the house, and they are now appealing for help in catching them. In a statement GMP said: "We are appealing for information after military medals were stolen during a burglary in Salford.
