We are now a third of the way into the January transfer window and Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for a number of different attackers.
Star striker Gabriel Jesus suffered a knee injury during Brazil's 2022 World Cup campaign, with the former Manchester City frontman expected to be sidelined for at least another five or six weeks. However, that hasn't stopped Mikel Arteta's side from firing on all cylinders, winning all but one of their matches since the return of club football last month, including last night's 3-0 victory over Oxford United in the third round of the FA Cup.
In his post-match press conference, Arteta admitted that his options at centre-forward are limited when asked about starting Eddie Nketiah, who remains the only fit out and out striker at the Spaniard's disposal, at the Kassam Stadium. "The problem is that we have only one striker and to cope for that many months until Gabby (Jesus) is back is not easy", Arteta said after the full-time whistle.

"But we have to get the most out of the players that we have at the moment. If we can have some reinforcements, great."
The former Manchester City assistant coach may have been sending a message to technical director Edu, clearly making it clear that the Gunners' forward options are currently light. Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk in recent times and football.london understands that an initial £55million bid was rejected by the Ukrainian outfit and some reports have since indicated that the Gunners lodged an improved offer of £62million last week.
Shakhtar have been adamant that Mudryk will only be sold if a club meets their huge valuation of the 22-year-old but Italian outlet FootMercato have now claimed that the north Londoners have taken a huge step towards securing a 'full agreement' to bring the talented youngster to the Emirates Stadium.
