Mikel Arteta faces make or break fixture schedule as Premier League hands Arsenal October test

The start of the new Premier League season is among us after the fixtures for the upcoming campaign were released this morning. Arsenal will once again kick it all off in the opening game which sees them travel to Crystal Palace on Friday, August 5th.

Putting the first match aside, August overall doesn't look too bad on paper. The Gunners have three home fixtures against Leicester City, Fulham and Aston Villa, while a second away clash will see them take on AFC Bournemouth. It could be a lot worse, but I'll probably change my mind once we've lost the opening two matches!

However, if you eagerly read through the fixtures earlier today, I'm sure your confidence would have slowly crumbled as you reached October. Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City and Nottingham Forest will all visit the Emirates that month, while away trips to Leeds and Southampton are also pencilled in.
