Arsenal have enjoyed a stellar 2022/23 campaign so far.
Mikel Arteta's side currently sit on top of the Premier League table, eight points clear of Manchester City in second with just nine games to play, albeit City have ten. The Gunners have accrued 72 points from their first 29 league fixtures, a points tally that has only been bettered five times in Premier League history.
But that still hasn't stopped some fans and pundits alike from criticising the state of the English top flight, with some claiming that this is one of the easier seasons to challenge for a title considering Liverpool and Chelsea have struggled, sitting eighth and eleventh in the standings respectively. These claims have now been rubbished by Arteta, who has hinted that this is the highest level he has ever seen the league.

“I have been in this league 20 or 21 years and I have never seen a league like this because of the level", he said ahead of Sunday's clash against Liverpool. “The level of managers, the level of organisation, the quality of the teams and the quality of the players.
"The capacity of teams to change players and formations is something that I think nobody has seen before.” The Spaniard's comments fall in line with City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne's recent assessment of the Premier League, with the talented playmaker claiming that the spending power of the so-called lesser teams has improved the competitive nature all-around.
Speaking about the Citizens' season last month, De Bruyne said: "It's been fine this year, the league has changed a bit. The lower teams are able to spend more money and buy better players, all teams have so much quality.
"The level of difficulty is getting tougher. We are second, in three competitions. In comparison with other years, I feel not different. There are some games we should have won, it depends."
