Mike Tyson Responds To Jake Paul And Deontay Wilder Comments

Mike Tyson doesn't think Jake Paul can hurt him and hits back at "too old" claims

Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has addressed the rescheduling of his fight with Jake Paul, expressing confidence that the YouTuber cannot inflict any significant damage on him. The highly anticipated bout, originally set for July 20 in Arlington, Texas, was postponed to November due to Tyson's health concerns.

Despite the delay, Tyson remains determined to face Paul in the ring, dismissing claims from Deontay Wilder that he is too old for the fight. Tyson emphasized his passion for the sport and his pursuit of glory, stating, 'I'd rather live a short life of glory than a long life of obscurity.'

Responding to Wilder's comments, Tyson asserted his commitment to the fight, declaring, 'You don’t have to worry about paying my bills.' He also highlighted the difference in recognition between himself and Wilder, emphasizing his enduring legacy in the world of boxing.

Paul, on the other hand, is set to fight former UFC and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship competitor Mike Perry on the original July 20 date. The uncertainty surrounding the rescheduled Tyson-Paul match has led to speculation about its eventual occurrence.

In an interview with Esquire, Tyson expressed his eagerness for the fight with Paul, stating, 'I'm a glory junkie. I love people thinking about me all day.' Despite the challenges and setbacks, Tyson's determination to pursue his passion for boxing remains unwavering.

Wilder, in a brief statement, extended his well wishes to Tyson, signaling a respectful tone amidst the exchange of words between the two boxing icons.
