There's a cause for celebration among the Royal Family today as Zara and Mike Tindall celebrate their wedding anniversary. The Queen's granddaughter married the former rugby star 11 years ago in a grand wedding after many years of dating.
The service was attended by Her Majesty and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who themselves had tied the knot just months earlier - but the groom was faced with an unusual request, reports the Mirror.
As the newlyweds emerged from the Scottish capital's Canongate Kirk after the service, the couple shared a kiss and looked blissfully happy as they set off for their reception.
But it seems before the big day, the bride's mum Princess Anne set down a demand for Mike - but he refused to go ahead with it.
In the months after the wedding, Mike revealed that his future mother-in-law asked him to get a nose job before the big day.
During his pro rugby career, he is believed to have broken his nose at least eight times, which left it slightly crooked. But Mike admitted: "It was a light-hearted, jokey comment. It wasn’t a big deal. Look at my nose – can you blame her?"
However, he was unable to carry out the request at the time as undergoing surgery would have interfered with his training regime - as he was still a rugby player at the time.
But in 2018, before the wedding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the 43-year-old did eventually have corrective surgery on his nose - once his pro sports career was over.
Zara and Mike's relationship started in 2003 after the pair were introduced by her cousin Harry at the Rugby World Cup in Australia.
They announced their engagement in 2010 and on her wedding day, Zara wore a stunning wedding dress by Stewart Parvin - a favourite designer of the Queen.
Speaking about their romance, Mike's previously said: "I've never been in love before, but Zara is the love of my life. No doubt."
A year after they wed, Mike was in the stands supporting Zara when she won a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics as part of the equestrian three-day eventing team.
In 2014, they welcomed their first child, a daughter called Mia who is now seven, and have another daughter called Lena, aged three.
Last year, they welcomed their first son, Lucas Philip, with Zara giving birth on the bathroom floor at their home in Gloucestershire.
The couple made several high-profile appearances at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations last month. Mike marked the bumper bank holiday weekend with a series of photos on Instagram that showed him trying on his wife's hats and playfully teasing four-year-old Prince Louis.
