Former England rugby ace Mike Tindall opened up about meeting his royal wife Zara while getting to know his campmates on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! The 44-year-old, who was a member of the English rugby union squad which won the 2003 World Cup, admitted that they discovered they 'both quite like getting smashed' during their 'boozy' first date.
Mike met Zara, 41, who is King Charles' niece, during England's World Cup-winning campaign in Australia in 2003. Speaking in the famous camp on the ITV jungle reality show to comedian Babatúndé Aleshe and Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner about his wife, he explained that they met in Sydney.
And Owen raised laughs among viewers watching at home on Monday night as he asked "Is she Australian?" about the daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, who is 20th in the line of succession to the British throne.

Owen, who is known for playing Romeo Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap, already had fans in stitches over Sunday night's launch episode when asking about what campmate Scarlette Douglas was known for. Singing legend Boy George said: “She’s from A Place In The Sun." But Owen replied: "Whereabouts?" to which the Culture Club star told him: "No, like the TV show."
@9Matthew7 tweeted with crying-laughing emojis: "Is she Australian?" @RealZacReynolds joked: "'Is she Australian?' Zara Tindle?" And @ReissOmari asked: "Did Owen just ask if Zara Philips is Australian?? I can’t deal with this man."
Mike explained about meeting Zara: “I was at the World Cup, she was out watching. I got dropped from the semi-final. I was p****d off and so I went for a beer with another guy who got dropped and a guy who was over [in Sydney]. They’d met her before and they introduced us and then got chatting.”
Owen asked: “So if you never got dropped you never would have met her?” Mike replied: “Best decision of Clive Woodward’s life.” And Owen added: “Thank god he dropped you.”
Speaking about their first date, Mike added: “First actual date, just went out for lunch locally. And ended up being quite a boozy one. Then we figured out that we both quite like getting smashed. It was a good start.” Mike and Zara married in 2011 and they have three children, Mia, eight, Lena, four, and Lucas, one.
