Thomas Frank has revealed that he spoke to referee Mike Dean in the aftermath of Brentford's 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United after the Bees' boss felt that Josh Dasilva's red card 'decided the game'.
Dasilva was sent off for a horror challenge on Matt Targett in the 11th minute after catching the Newcastle defender on the ankle with his studs.
Dean did not initially give the decision in Newcastle's favour but, following a VAR check, the official showed Dasilva the red card.

Newcastle ultimately made that man advantage count in the capital and goals from Joelinton and Joe Willock gave the visitors a commanding lead before half-time.
Brentford did rally a little after the break following the introduction of debutant Christian Eriksen, who made his first appearance since collapsing at Euro 2020.
Frank was keen to praise Newcastle's 'fantastic' fans after the game for the reception they gave his compatriot, but 10-man Brentford, ultimately, only mustered one shot on target as the Magpies leapfrogged the Bees into 14th place.
Although dominant Newcastle were good value for the win, perhaps, it was not a surprise that Dasilva's red card was at the forefront of Frank's mind after the Brentford boss paid Dean a visit in his office after the game.
"I just wanted to get a little bit more knowledge about the red card," Frank told BBC Sport. "I also watched it back. I understand why it can be given so I'm not saying it's completely wrong.
"It's just that it's hard to accept that randomness in football. It's not that he's flying into the tackle or it's two-footed or with massive power. He steps in, tries to get his body in front, hits the player.
"It's a completely random situation that decides this game. That's just what I wanted to understand."
