There’s enough downtime during an NFL game that, inevitably, some non-football conversations come up. But the one caught by the NFL Films cameras between Rams star wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua may just be the weirdest one yet. The subject matter in question: anime.
During a stoppage of play, Nacua approached Kupp with an important question: “Coop, why do I feel like you’d be into anime?”

Kupp wasn’t having any of it, immediately dismissing Nacua’s theory and doubling down once Nacua went to fellow receiver Tutu Atwell for support of his theory.
“No, you were wrong,” Kupp said with a smile to Nacua.

So many questions.
Whether this was all a ploy to keep the team lose or just an instance of a rookie’s mind wandering during a game, the dialogue certainly had fans confused. Perhaps it helped Nacua win over some anime fans to support him on the gridiron, though.
