Mickey Rourke took a savage swipe at Amber Heard during his TalkTV interview with Piers Morgan on Tuesday night, branding her a 'gold digger'.
The American actor, 69, spoke out for his friend Johnny Depp, who he has known for 'many years', claiming he felt 'so bad' for the actor, 59, 'trying to get chopped down by some gold digger'.
Johnny sued Amber over a 2018 article she wrote for the Washington Post about her experiences as a survivor of domestic abuse, which his lawyers said falsely accused him of being an abuser.
The six-week blockbuster trial saw the Pirates of the Caribbean star awarded £8.2 million in damages, while Amber, 36, won on one count of her counter-suit, successfully arguing Depp’s press agent defamed her by claiming her allegations were 'an abuse hoax'.
The jury awarded her £1.5 million in damages.
Speaking about his old acquaintance Johnny, Mickey told Piers: " Well, you know, I know Johnny for many years, but I don't really know him intimately.
"All I could say is I was in a situation one time where I got blamed for something that I didn’t do. It cost me movie jobs for several years and it caused a bad reputation.
"And finally, the truth came out but the truth came out after I lost movies and I lost jobs and and so I felt bad for somebody that is trying to get chopped down by some gold digger, you know."
To which Piers replied: "You think that's what she was?"
Mickey told him: "Abso- f***ing-lutely. Absolutely."

Mickey and Johnny worked together on the 2003 film Once Upon A Time In Mexico.
Meanwhile, Amber's lawyers have demanded a retrial following claims of "improper juror service," saying that the outcome had not been supported by the evidence presented during the six-week trial in Fairfax, Virginia.
Johnny's representatives hit back as they said the verdict in favour of the actor was "well-supported by the overwhelming evidence (and) consistent with the law" and that the appeals "verge into the frivolous".
