Michigan State will be one of five finalists to land a big-time safety prospect in the 2023 class.
Four-star safety Jayden Bonsu announced on Saturday this top five schools list — which included the Spartans. Michigan State was joined by Ohio State, Penn State, Alabama and Miami (FL).
Bonsu also announced that he’ll be officially announcing his commitment on August 20.
Bonsu is ranked as the No. 24 safety and No. 272 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2023 class. He’s also listed as the No. 3 player from New Jersey.
Bonsu is currently projected to pick Ohio State, according to 247Sports. However, he did recently take official visits to Michigan State, Miami (FL), and Alabama. So there could be some movement in the direction for him to end up at one of those schools instead. We will know soon enough.
