Michigan State football was without starting right guard, Kris “Big Dooley” Phillips during Saturday’s game against Maryland. Phillips absence was the result of a lower body injury suffered during the Spartans’ opening-week win against Florida Atlantic.
While the injury was supposed to sideline Phillips for a few weeks, at a minimum, MSU head coach Jonathan Smith noted after the win against Maryland that the injury will likely sideline Phillips for the season.
Jonathan Smith post-game said OG Kristian Phillips’ injury is long-term and he’s unlikely to be back this season.

Michigan State will look to Gavin Broscious and Dallas Fincher to fill the void left by Phillips.
