Michigan State basketball will battle Oregon as part of the PKI tournament in Portland on Friday (technically early Saturday for those in Michigan), and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.
The shorthanded Spartans will look to regroup from an 11-point loss to Alabama in Thursday night’s PKI first round matchup. Michigan State is without a pair of starters in Jaden Akins and Malik Hall, and those two missing pieces certainly played a role in the loss to the Crimson Tide.
Oregon is also looking to bounce back from a poor performance in their PKI opening matchup, with the Ducks getting blown out by UConn. On the year, Oregon is 2-3 with losses also against UC Irvine and Houston.

Three Things to Watch
Here are three things to watch out for in this matchup between Michigan State and Oregon:
Need more from Hauser and Brooks: With Hall out for the next few weeks, Joey Hauser and Pierre Brooks will play an even more important role in the Spartans’ offense. The two combined shot 3-for-12 from the field against Alabama on Thursday and failed to have a major positive impact. That’ll need to change if Michigan State is going to beat the Ducks.
Forcing Oregon turnovers for easy points: Michigan State struggled to get easy buckets against Alabama on Thursday, and one way to help improve upon that is forcing turnovers for fast break buckets. Oregon averages 14 turnovers per game so far this year — making this a potential area for the Spartans to take advantage of on Friday.
Encore for Walker-Hoggard combo: With Akins out, we will be seeing a lot of Tyson Walker and A.J. Hoggard together — which isn’t a bad thing. The two combined for 39 points against the Crimson Tide and appear to be the Spartans’ best scoring threat when they get things going and in rhythm.
Game Prediction
Prediction: MSU – 72, Oregon – 68
This game is hard to predict because I’m not sure how much of Thursday’s poor performance was on the Spartans missing two key players or Alabama being a pretty good team. I think it’s somewhere in the middle of those two, and with Oregon currently struggling I think Michigan State should win this game. But if they don’t get better outings from Hauser, Brooks and Mady Sissoko then there’s a great chance the Ducks come out on top.
