Michigan State basketball shooting guard Tyson Walker had one of the best individual scoring seasons of the Tom Izzo era at MSU, and for his efforts, was named Second team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media.
I will take a little umbrage to this selection, as Tyson was also on the second team last season, and this year, they actually expanded the first team to include six players, which was strange. The expanded first team included Jahmyr Young, Maryland’s excellent point guard. The issue I have with including Young over Walker is that their numbers are similar, but Maryland went 7-13 in the Big Ten and had a disappointing year (much more-so than MSU).
