Michelle Mone's ex-husband to become dad again with woman blamed for wrecking marriage

Michelle Mone’s former husband is to become a father again – with the woman the bra boss blamed for wrecking their marriage.

Businessman Michael Mone, 55, and wife Samantha, 40, are expecting their first child together on August 1 and said they are overjoyed.

Samantha posted a photo on social media, showing off her bump.

Michael, who has three grown-up children with the controversial Tory peer confirmed Samantha was expecting, adding: “We are absolutely delighted, as you can imagine.”

One of his friends said: “Michael has taken a lot of flak over the years and he deserves to be happy.”

Michael and Michelle, now 50, were married for 20 years, founding the Ultimo lingerie firm in 1997, which became a global brand and was valued at £50million in 2010.

But she accused Michael of starting a relationship with Samantha, the company’s then designer, while they were still together. The couple denied her claims.

In her autobiography after they divorced, Michelle told how she spiked Michael’s coffee with laxatives and trashed his Porsche.

Michelle later took control of Ultimo and their parent firm MGM International but sold the business in 2014.

Michael, now a funeral firm managing director, wed Samantha in Aberdeenshire in 2015, with his eldest son Declan as best man.

The same year Michelle was made a Baroness and appointed as an adviser to David Cameron’s Tories on business start-ups in disadvantaged communities.

She wed Scots billionaire Doug Barrowman in 2020.

But she has recently been embroiled in a police investigation into multimillion-pound Government contracts to supply surgical gowns and masks to the NHS.

Isle of Man-based PPE Medpro – set up by Mone associate Anthony Page – was given two controversial fast-tracked contracts as the UK battled Covid.

One was for £81million worth of face masks. The other saw the firm paid £122million to supply 25million sterilised gowns.

The peer had personally referred the firm to the UK Cabinet Office via a “VIP lane”. In January 2022, she recommended Medpro for a government contract five days before the company had been formed.

Her lawyers stated that she “was not connected to PPE Medpro in any capacity”.

Following a complaint by Labour peer George Foulkes, the House of Lords commissioner for standards launched an investigation into the relationship between Michelle Mone and Medpro.

In April, the Glasgow-born businesswoman’s homes in London and the Isle of Man, and associated business addresses were raided by the police, who have launched a probe into potential fraud.

The National Crime Agency is pursuing a tandem probe into PPE Medpro.

Michelle has denied any wrongdoing or involvement in PPE Medpro.
