More than 120 hotels across the country have been recognized as recipients of the inaugural Michelin Key U.S. selection. This prestigious award honors the most outstanding experiences and stays at hotel and resort properties in America. Similar to the renowned Michelin Star award for restaurants, the Michelin Key selection for hotels has made its debut this year, showcasing excellence in hospitality.
The list of Michelin Key properties includes hotels in major cities such as Atlanta, California, Chicago, Colorado, Florida, New York, and Washington D.C. Notable among the recipients are eleven hotels that were awarded three Michelin Keys, the highest distinction. These include The Beverly Hills Hotel, Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, SingleThread Inn in Healdsburg, Casa Cipriani New York, and Aman New York, marking the Aman brand's first venture into a major American city.
Maintaining the highest standards of comfort, service, style, and elegance, these properties are recognized as the ultimate in luxury accommodations. Other distinguished properties that received three Michelin Keys include Auberge du Soleil and Meadowood Napa Valley, both part of the Relais & Châteaux collection.
Additionally, thirty-three properties were awarded two Michelin Keys, such as Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, Peninsula Chicago, Nine Orchard in New York, The Battery in San Francisco, Faena Hotel Miami Beach, and the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club in Surfside. These hotels were acknowledged for their character, charm, and exceptional level of care in guest service.
Furthermore, eighty U.S. hotels were granted one Michelin Key for 2024, recognized as true gems with unique character and personality. This year marks the first time the Michelin Key selection has been extended to the U.S., with a total of 124 properties honored from over 1,000 recommendations.
The Michelin Key winners are chosen by an anonymous inspection team that independently evaluates their stays or visits. Ratings are based on various criteria, including a distinctive hospitality concept, character, warm welcome, and exceptional service.
