David Martindale says Michael Beale is matching Celtic counterpart Ange Postecoglou with every game as Rangers boss.
The Light Blues gaffer has only dropped points to the Premiership champions and has won every other league match since taking over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst. His side travel to Martindale's Livingston on Saturday and their last two meetings have been tight, a 2-1 win on this season's opening day and a 1-1 draw at Ibrox, John Lundstram scoring in stoppage time to avoid slipping into shock defeat territory.
Postecoglou's Celtic are still nine points in front of Rangers and the pair will meet in Viaplay Cup final competition later this month. But the Livingston boss says that Saturday's test is all the more difficult now Beale is at Ibrox: "How do you beat Rangers? You are going to need a bit of luck on the day. Am I correct in saying that Michael's record is the same as Ange's since he came in?
"For me, Celtic are the best team in the country before Michael to Rangers. He's come in and done a fantastic job, and him and Ange are now head-to-head.
"Obviously Celtic have got that head start with the points they have picked up previously, but I think it shows the job Michael has done. He's done an incredible job since he came in.
"But it's my job to focus on Livingston and how we take points off Rangers. It is going to be a lot more difficult than the previous two encounters this season in terms of the style of play, Michael's brought his own identity."
