Hollywood hunk Michael B. Jordan and American model Lori Harvey have made the heartbreaking decision to call time on their romance a little over a year after going steady.
The 35-year-old Black Panther actor and the 25-year-old beauty had been together for a year and a half before opting to throw in the towel on their romance – just weeks after it was speculated they may become parents.
It has been suggested that the pair are ‘completely heartbroken’ by the decision to end the romance, but Lori has already snubbed any trace of Michael from her Instagram account.
And while reports have suggested that it may well have been Lori who pulled the plug on the romance after the actor became anxious to get married.
A source told People magazine: "Michael and Lori are both completely heartbroken. They still love each other.
“Michael matured a lot over the course of their relationship and was ready to commit for the long term. He let down his guard with her, opening up emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time.
"They had great times together and brought out the best in each other."
Meanwhile, TMZ speculated: “Michael apparently wanted to get even more serious with Lori than they already were, as he was apparently seeking to go the distance in a long-term relationship. Marriage?
“There's no clarification or pushback from Lori's perspective ... which seems to suggest she didn't necessarily want the same thing as him.”
The couple first went public with their romance back in November 2020 and had spent Christmases together – including Michael spending time with her family.
Michael had previously bragged about their romance, hinting he thought Lori was ‘the one’.
He told The Hollywood Reporter last December that he had: "finally found what love was.”
He explained: "When I was younger, I don't know if I could have handled the onslaught of opinions and being picked apart, and also being conscious of what the other person's going to go through. It takes a special person to deal with that."
While he told People in April 2021: “I am extremely happy. I think when you get older, you feel more comfortable about the [public nature] of the business that we're in. So for me, it was a moment to, I guess, take ownership of that and then get back to work."
Fans have been shocked by the split and have flooded social media with messages of support.
One Twitter user remarked: "Nooo I have been rooting for them."
While another commented: "If they are both heartbroken they should just come back together and be heartmended, Simple!"
And another fan seemed to be in denial, tweeting: "If it's real, they will work on it. You don't let real love just wither away like that. No guarantee that it will work still but real love makes that effort [one hundred per cent]! Facts."
