Mic’d-up video showed Dak Prescott thanking Sauce Gardner for dropping a would-be touchdown

It’s early in the season, but the Dallas Cowboys are looking like the class of the NFC after a pair of dominant wins to start the season. Yet, even though they made easy work of the New York Jets on Sunday, the respect was real between Dak Prescott and Sauce Gardner.

He was extra appreciative of the one play that Gardner certainly would have liked to have back.

During that 30-10 Cowboys win, Gardner had a golden opportunity to give the Jets a lead in the second quarter when he jumped the route on a pass for CeeDee Lamb. Gardner couldn’t hold onto the ball, and Prescott basically avoided throwing in Gardner’s direction after that.

So, following the game, Gardner asked Prescott about the lack of action his way … and, of course, he brought up the dropped would-be touchdown.

“If I need to, I will. But I didn’t have to. Why challenge the best player on the team,” Prescott said of throwing in Gardner’s direction.

That was when Gardner responded that he was thinking about the touchdown before he actually caught the ball. And you know what Prescott did? He thanked him!

Cowboys fans were thankful about that drop too. But in all, NFL fans enjoyed hearing the mic’d-up interaction between the two star players.
