Mexico's Senate has approved the temporary entry of 139 U.S. military personnel for training exercises in Chihuahua, expanding bilateral defense cooperation at a particularly sensitive moment in relations between the two countries.
The authorization received support from every parliamentary group in an open vote, according to El Heraldo de México. The company-sized American contingent will train at the National Training Center in Santa Gertrudis and is scheduled to leave Mexico by Sept. 30.
