The Met Police has released an image of a man following an assault that left a man with serious facial injuries in Bromley.

Officers said the assault happened at 11.30pm on December 10 after a man, in his 30s, approached another man in Market Square.

He asked for a light for his cigarette before the assailant became aggressive. The victim was then punched in the head and suffered significant facial injuries which will require ongoing treatment.

No arrests have been made.

Detective Constable Lucas Ainscough said the victim was left with “lasting injuries”.

“The incident escalated quickly but I know there would have been several people in and around Market Square at that time of the evening.

“If you saw anything that could help the investigation, please contact police.

“I would also ask anyone who recognises the man in the image we have issued to call so we can speak to him about this incident.”
