As the day progresses across Greater Manchester, temperatures will remain at near-freezing levels.
According to Met Office snow maps, northern and eastern parts of Greater Manchester, including Rochdale and Bolton, will see snowfall as temperatures dip to 1C. As the afternoon progresses, snow will persist in northern and eastern areas, while Manchester will be hit by light showers..
While recorded temperatures will average at 2C for much of Greater Manchester, it will feel far more colder at -3C. This will be accompanied by exceptionally high gusts of wind ranging from 30mph all the way up to 37mph.

As we approach the evening, snow will begin to move away from many parts in the region, however Rochdale will continue to be hit well into the early hours of Friday. In the meantime, light rain showers in the centre of Manchester will persist throughout the rest of the day.
The Met Office said: "Turning unsettled as another band of snow, sleet and rain moves northwards. With strong winds, blizzard conditions are likely, especially over higher ground and across the Pennines where significant accumulations are possible. Feeling cold. Maximum temperature 4 °C."
For the evening, it adds: "Disruptive snow continuing into the evening and overnight, particularly across the higher ground in the east. Gradually clearing and turning patchier by dawn. Minimum temperature -3 °C."
