The weekend has brought a mixed bag of weather conditions including a prolonged cold snap which saw temperatures dip below freezing. The Met Office issued a series of weather warnings this week including the arctic blast that will soon make way for milder temperatures on Monday.
On Sunday night, the South West can expect another frosty blast with temperatures reaching a minimum of minus 5 degrees with a change of patchy fog, the Met Office reports. However, tomorrow will see highs of around 8 degrees in some parts. Bristol, Gloucestershire and will see the sunshine for most of the day with temperatures reaching 5-6 degrees.
Meteorologist Jonathan Vautrey said: “The weekend brought us a fairly mixed bag of weather. Some of us had freezing fog patches persisting, particularly across southeastern locations.

"As we moved slightly further to the west there were some actually decent sunny intervals,” he added. “Overnight there will be further outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle."
Looking at tomorrow’s weather he said temperatures will be a bit of a contrast with the North and West of the UK seeing highs of 10 degrees while the South will only be around 4 degrees Celsius.

This Evening and Tonight:
A cloudy night across Cornwall and Devon and dry for most, bar the chance for some patchy light rain for west Cornwall. Elsewhere, dry with clear spells and light winds. Turning frosty overnight with the chance of some patchy fog. Minimum temperature -5 °C.
Monday:
A dry day with a frosty start in the east. Sunshine spreads across Devon and Cornwall as clouds retreat westwards. Another frosty night. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Cloudier with rain and drizzle in places on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rather chilly with overnight frosts at first, slowly turning milder. Temperatures near normal Thursday as rain clears south.
