Those still holding out for snow this Christmas will be disappointed again as the warmer temperatures will mean a little bit of sunshine on Boxing Day. According to the Met Office, the day will start out mostly dry and then we'll see some sun in the morning until after midday.
After the little bit of sunshine the clouds will darken and then we will begin to see isolated wintry showers which will eventually become more frequent and widespread.
The air is set to be cold and windy with the maximum temperature of the day at 7 °C.
The rest of the week will be a much wetter affair with more rain, heavy rain forecast throughout Tuesday and Wednesday.
