Met Eireann have issued a Status Yellow fog and ice warning as freezing weather kicks in nationwide.
The warning is in place from 11pm tonight until 11am tomorrow morning. The forecaster warned that "icy stretches along with patches of freezing fog may lead to hazardous road conditions".
Temperatures will reach as low as -3 around Ireland tonight as mist and fog develop. It will be largely dry, but one or two isolated showers are possible mostly in Atlantic coastal counties, but any that drift they further inland could turn wintry.

Tomorrow morning will begin cold and frosty with icy stretches and freezing fog in places. It will stay cold in most areas for the day especially in the north and east, with highest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, mildest in the southwest.
