The awful weather is set to continue after Dublin was lashed by heavy rain and strong winds brought on by Hurricane Martin.
Although the hurricane has since passed, Met Eireann has issued a chaotic forecast for Ireland this week. A weather advisory is in place warning of localised flooding and high river levels due to spells of heavy rain and showers.
The alert is will be valid until 11pm this Friday. Today will start off bright and fresh with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, some of which may turn heavy or thundery with the highest temperatures of 12 or 13 degrees.

Showers will become more isolated overnight with long and dry clear spells developing and the lowest temperatures of 7 or 8 degrees.
Tomorrow will be dry with isolated showers and sunny spells and the highest temperatures of 13 or 14 degrees. There is no further forecast for Dublin but here's the national outlook:
Wednesday night
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "A cloudy night with outbreaks of rain spreading northeastwards across the country. Becoming rather breezy in fresh southwest winds. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.
Thursday
"Mild, humid and blustery with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in fresh to strong southwest winds.
Thursday night
"Cloudy with rain turning more persistent and possibly heavy at times with a risk of localised flooding. A very mild night with lowest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Friday
"Another mild and cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, most persistent and heaviest over the western half of the country with localised flooding. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Friday night
"Rain will continue into Friday night with an ongoing risk of flooding. Lowest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees with southerly winds easing moderate."
