There has been another fall in covid infections in Merseyside.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, the Liverpool City Region saw a week-on-week percentage change figure decrease of 22% in the week ending August 13.

There was a total of 1,228 infections in the Liverpool City Region, which is 341 fewer cases than the previous seven days before.
Each area of the LCR recorded a drops in covid infections. The drops were: 14% in Liverpool; 13% in Knowsley; 31% in Halton; 24% in St Helens; 19% in Sefton; and, 34% in Wirral.
Cheshire West and Chester, West Lancs, and Warrington recorded decreases in positive covid tests.
In England, there was a drop of 20% in the week ending August 13.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 401 cases in the week ending August 13, which is 64 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 14%. The latest infection rate was 80.1 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 229 cases in the week ending August 13, which is 118 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 34%. The latest infection rate was 70.6 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 91 positive tests over the last week - that's 41 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 31% in Halton in the week ending August 13. The latest infection rate is 70.1 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 145 cases in the week ending August 13, which is 45 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 80.1 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 24%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 122 cases in the week ending August 13, which is 18 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 80.0 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 13%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 240 cases in the week ending August 13, which is a 55 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 87.0 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 19% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 1,228 positive tests over in the week ending August 13, which is 341 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 22%. The latest infection rate is 72.12 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 185 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 13, which is 26 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure decreased by 12%. There was an infection rate of 88.35 per 100,000 people
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 299 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 13, which is 49 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure decreased by 14%. There was an infection rate of 86.96 per 100,000 people.
West Lancs
There were 81 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 13, which is 25 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 70.74 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage decreased by 24% in cases.
England
In the week ending August 13, England recorded 39,051 coronavirus cases, which is 10,029 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage decreased by 20% in England. There was an infection rate of 69.06 per 100,000 people.
