Merseyrail services will be subject to multiple changes this Christmas period, including on Boxing Day.
No trains will run on Christmas Day and on Christmas Eve services will finish earlier than usual, at around 8pm. On Christmas Eve the usual 15 minute timetable will still run.
Regarding Boxing Day, Merseyrail said it's "thrilled" to be able to offer services on the day at selected stations. Services will be run every 30 minutes, from 9am to 6.30pm on the day, throughout the network.

As with previous years, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve will see services finish earlier than usual, though will still run to the usual 15 minute timetable. On New Year's Day services will run every 30 minutes.
A normal timetable will take place on all other days.
Cllr Liam Robinson, transport and air quality portfolio holder for the LCRCA said: "We're really pleased that we’ve been able to work with Merseyrail once again to ensure a timetable will be operating on Boxing Day this year.
"By running these services, it allows city region residents the chance to travel for whatever reason, whether it's shopping, leisure, sporting events or just to visit friends and family.
"We would encourage rail users to plan ahead for their journey and make the most of these services that don't operate in many parts of the country on Boxing Day."
Merseyrail's commercial director, Suzanne Grant, said: "As people across the Liverpool City Region prepare to enjoy the festive season, we are thrilled to be able to offer Boxing Day services this Christmas.
"Only a very limited number of trains operate nationally on Boxing Day, and I’d encourage those thinking of travelling to the Boxing Day sales, festive or sporting events to consider using our services to get there."

EDIT: This article previously claimed that the Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve train service timetable will be every 30 minutes, this was not correct and has since been corrected. The Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve train service will run as normal every 15 minutes.
