A man was escorted from a Merseyrail train by police after getting out a knife onboard.
British Transport Police and Merseyside Police were called by staff on the 1.01pm train from Chester to Liverpool following reports of a man carrying a knife. The Merseyrail train was forced to stop at Rock Ferry Train Station while emergency services rushed to the scene.
Once at the scene officers arrested a 57-year-old man from Birkenhead on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

Pictures taken by The ECHO show three Merseyside Police officers and One British Transport Police officer escorting a man away from the station around the time of the incident.
Services on the Ellesmere Port and Chester line were delayed or cancelled while emergency services dealt with the incident. Services were able to resume at around 1.45pm.
