Police are investigating a burglary at a Tesco Express.
Merseyside Police confirmed that it is investigating a burglary at Tesco Express on Preston New Road in Southport. The force revealed the store had reportedly been broken into at around 6.40am today (Monday, February 13).
It was reported that three men had managed to get into the store while it was closed and cash had been taken. The investigation is currently in its early stages and forensic enquiries are ongoing.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "We are appealing for information following a reported burglary at a convenience store in Southport. On Monday 13 February, we received a report at around 6.40am that the business on Preston New Road had been broken into at some point overnight.
"It was reported that three males had gained entry into the store while it was closed and taken a quantity of cash. We are in the early stages of an investigation and forensic enquiries are ongoing.
"We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. In particular, we are hoping to speak with a potential witness after it was reported that a Ford KA was driven near the location during the burglary.
