Melting Pot x Heverlee Weekender announce September indoors edition at Glasgow's BAaD

Melting Pot x Heverlee have announced their return to BAaD this September with a weekend of landmark parties set to see the summer off in style.

On Friday, September 23, The Melting Pot mirror balls will be getting a polish ahead of their 21st birthday celebrations with a line-up that is hugely important for the disco heads of Glasgow. For the first time in fifteen years, DJ Billy Woods will join Simon Cordiner behind the decks to reunite the original Melting Pot DJ line-up.

While on Saturday, September 24, the duo behind one of the city’s most loved club nights, Optimo, will be making a huge return to the east end venue as they celebrate 25 years of incredible parties.

Joining Optimo on the night is Glasgow’s own vibrant champions of glam-pop, Walt Disco. Renowned for their breathtaking live shows, the six-piece have been receiving rave reviews for their recently released debut album 'Unlearning' and will be joining fans under the glass ceiling of the BAaD courtyard for a kaleidoscopic evening of dancing.

Mark Mackechnie, Melting Pot director, said: “After last year’s epic weekend of post lockdown celebrations, we had to return to BAaD to relive that incredible weekend of celebrations. Having a weekend that celebrates Melting Pot’s 21st birthday and Optimo’s 25th will ensure that the magic of that weekend can be relived.

"Both Optimo and Melting Pot have dedicated their lives to bringing the best possible parties to Glasgow, so we are thrilled to be able to light up BAaD once again with an unmissable weekend of music and dancing. We can’t wait to see you all under the mirror ball.”

Optimo’s JD Twitch said: "After an amazing return to the dancefloor at BAaD last year we can’t wait to bookend the summer with more Optimo 25 celebrations back in the city where it all began. After an amazing sell-out party with Melting Pot in May in Queen’s Park, we wanted to host something local again for those who will not be able to make it down to our inaugural Watching Trees Festival in Forest of Dean at the start of next month.”

As well as ice-cold pints of its premium pilsner lager, Heverlee will once again be supporting the line-up for the BAaD holiday weekend sessions. Alongside top music, guests can also watch a live mural come to life over the weekend.
