The premise of the docuseries revolves around Etheridge receiving letters from five female residents of the Topeka Correctional Facility, a women's prison in Kansas. These letters serve as the inspiration for Etheridge to compose and perform a heartfelt song dedicated to these women. The project takes on added emotional weight as Etheridge, who tragically lost her son to opioids, seeks to address the challenges of addiction and connect with individuals often marginalized by society.
