The heat continues to intensify on embattled Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley after the Power were thumped by reigning premiers Melbourne in a 32-point loss at Adelaide Oval.

The Demons kicked the first eight goals of the game and held Port Adelaide to their first-ever goalless half in the AFL, as Melbourne kept a team goalless at halftime for the first time since 1994.
