Meghan Markle's 'controversial' behaviour is making her popularity levels in the US severely drop, claims Kayla Rockefeller. The billionaire heiress, 23 has warned Meghan and Prince Harry risk being rejected from elite circles in the US if their problematic actions continue as Rockefeller said Meghan is losing power in the States.
Kayla, who is part of a dynasty known as one of 'America's Royal families', claims the Duchess of Sussex is being 'too controversial' in the eyes of many Americans, the Mirror reports. Her warning comes after the former Suits Star, 41 decided to skip the King's Coronation on May 6 after months of speculation as to whether the royal couple would attend.
Speaking at the launch of her new jewellery line, Kayla Jaclyne jewellery, the heiress said she wouldn't be pleased if Meghan were to wear or model her designs as she 'couldn't take that chance' on a figure with such a diverse reputation.
When asked if the Duchess would be a good role model for her brand, Kayla told MailOnline: "That would be controversial. As a new jeweller I couldn't take the chance. I mean, I could but people are so 50/50 [about Meghan]."
Her bold statement comes under two months after a poll revealed that Meghan and Harry's popularity levels stateside was at its all-time low - beneath the likes of Prince Andrew.
According to a poll conducted in February by Redfield & Wilton for Newsweek, 42% of Americans shared a dislike for Harry, compared to the 32% who said they liked him — with a net approval rating of -10. This was a significant drop in comparison to the same poll which was previously carried out in December last year.
The same drop was notable on Meghan's figures, with her February results showing as few as 27% of Americans liked her while 44% didn't. The latest poll followed shortly after Prince Harry's release of his memoir Spare, in which he made multiple shocking allegations about the Royal Family.
The Duke's bombshell TV interviews that followed saw him double down on his criticism of his family, including one story in which he alleged that his older brother Prince William attacked him.
There were also a number of scornful remarks made towards his father King Charles III's wife Camilla, who he described as 'dangerous'.
Despite his public outbursts at his family, Harry decided he would attend the King's Coronation to support his dad while his wife and two kids remain in the United States to celebrate Prince Archie's fourth birthday.
It comes as it's been reported that the prince is often finding life in California tough and feels 'homesick'. However, according to a close friend of Meghan's, the Duke is said to have finally 'found his vibe' in the Golden State.
Makeup artist Daniel Martin told People: "Harry has definitely found his vibe and is very settled in California. But he does miss home".
It's alleged that Harry has been phoning home ahead of the historical event as he looks for 'assurances' before reconciling with his family for the first time since the release of Spare and his Netflix documentary with Meghan.
The Mirror's royal editor Russell Myers said Harry is also likely to be worried about security arrangements after he lost his round the clock royal security once he stepped down as a royal and also where he would be placed within seating arrangements.
