Meghan Markle is dreading her 'nerve-wracking' royal return to UK, expert claims

Meghan Markle will be privately 'dreading' her reunion with the Royal Family and is likely to use her children as a welcome distraction, it has been claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex will travel to the UK for the first time since March 2020 for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee alongside Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet.

The outspoken couple have been critical of the establishment and the family's way of life since moving to the United States two years ago.

Meghan will come face-to-face with the Firm for the first time since their explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey - and she is said to be feeling anxious about what's ahead.

Royal author Duncan Larcombe has told OK! Magazine it will be a lot more challenging for her than husband Harry.

He says Meghan will use children to take her mind off things over the Bank Holiday weekend before the family return to California.

He said: "For Harry, he came back for Philip's funeral and the unveiling of Diana's statue last summer – and, of course, he was meeting the Queen and seeing his dad not that long ago.

"But, for Meghan, this is probably incredibly nerve-wracking. I will imagine that she with some reason, she will be dreading the return."

He added: "Having Lili with them when they return for the Jubilee is probably quite a good distraction."

It comes as royal author Howard Hodgson claims that Meghan does not want to repair the rift completely.

"I don’t think Meghan wants it to be repaired, because if it was repaired, that might get Harry wanting to come back and play his role," he told The Sun.

Having her children on the trip will prove to be a welcome distraction, a royal expert says (PA)

"In a way, Prince Charles doesn’t want any focus going in that direction, he wants a straight-line focus on him, William, George.

“Nobody wants a repeat of what happened at the rather extraordinary Commonwealth Day, with the Cambridges and Sussexes actually looking hostile to each other.

"Anything like that is not going to happen now. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are special gestures to make them feel welcome.”
