Meghan Markle has been accused of performing a "vanishing act" as she avoids the spotlight to plan her next move. The Duchess of Sussex has taken a step back from the limelight to "plan, parent and regroup" according to one royal expert.
Meghan, 41, has confirmed that she will not be attending King Charles Coronation next month with her husband Prince Harry and will instead stay in California with her two children Archie and Lilibet.
Meghan has been noticeably absent from events this year, apart from releasing official photos from a trip to Los Angeles to support a charity supporting homeless pregnant women, reports the Mirror.
While many are wondering what Meghan is up too, royal expert Gordon Rayner, writes in The Telegraph: "The answer, it seems, can be summed up in three words: planning, parenting and regrouping."
Mr Rayner, speculating on Meghan's recent "vanishing act" during which the Duchess has been uncharacteristically absent from the spotlight, remarks how the couple have been "stung by the backlash in the US to their behaviour over the past year."
The former royal correspondent added that the Duchess may be avoiding the spotlight in order to "avoid further trouble and wait for the memories to fade. That, surely, is part of the reason for her absence from the Coronation."
Since stepping down as senior royals, the Duchess has launched her own podcast Archetypes while there are rumours she will restart her now defunct lifestyle blog The Tig. Meghan had to previously shut down her blog when she entered royal life, but is reportedly keen to bring it back.
Mr Rayner says Meghan "grieves" for The Tig, which she had to give up when she entered royal life. It's also been speculated the Duchess could write a book as part of Harry's multi-volume deal with Penguin Random House.
Experts say her relationship with the Royal family is at its lowest and is now "completely estranged" from them
Daily Mail Diary Editor and royal expert Richard Eden made the comments after it was announced Meghan would not be attending the King's coronation.
Mr Eden wrote: "It appears to mark the complete estrangement of Meghan from her husband’s family as well as from her own, with the one exception of her mother, Doria. I can say with some confidence that Meghan will not be missed by the royals."
