MEGAN CONNOLLY hailed ruthless Ireland as they smashed Georgia for NINE to edge closer to the World Cup play-offs.
Connolly found the net and provided assists from set-pieces and open play, earning her the player of the match award.
She said: “We were ruthless when we could be and got the nine goals.
“To be fair,” she added, reflecting on her 18th minute strike from Katie McCabe’s corner, “it was put on a plate by Katie but the ball was perfect. I just stood there and it hit my foot.

“We knew the set-pieces would be good for us if we got the deliveries right, and as well from the wide positions, We could have got more.
“We were disappointed in the first-half but we upped it in the second-half. We wanted to get more and we got more. Katie had good deliveries and Louise got on the end of a few.
“It was one of those days when everything goes right. It’s all about the win and getting goals.
“It sets up Finland. We didn’t want to get carried away and knew we had to focus on this one.”
