Love Island star Megan Barton-Hanson has lifted the lid on her secret suffering as she admits to starving herself in a very honest post.
The 28-year-old model has admitted she’s really struggling with her body image and is finding compliments and criticism on how she looks difficult to deal with.
Just months after Megan said she was quitting cosmetic surgery and that therapy has helped her to finally be happy with her body, she posted the heart-breaking admission on her social media.
Megan opened her Instagram up to questions from fans. She received a response which read: “Diet/workout plans u look incred,” (sic) with four flaming heart emojis.
“I’ve been really struggling with my body,” She began replying to the gushing follower. “I got this lean back in Feb/March and not in a healthy way… now I’ve gained weight by eating a normal amount of cals (1200/1300) and I’m obsessing about it!
“The praise was super nice but also the pressure to maintain that is a lot. I was living on 800/1000 cals a day and working out, it wasn’t sustainable.” (sic)
An ideal daily intake of calories varies depending on age, metabolism and levels of physical activity, among other things. Generally, the recommended daily calorie intake is 2,000 calories a day for women and 2,500 for men.
Megan continued: “When I finally figure it out I’ll share with you guys. It’s tough though, been called fat for years, then the praise for starving myself, it’s hard having so many opinions.” (sic)
Megan’s concerning comments follow her previous admissions where she told how it was “painful” for her to look in the mirror before making the decision to have plastic surgery.
She has long suffered with her body image and had her ears pinned back when she was 17 years old after she was bullied.
After that she had a nose and two boob jobs and had frequent Botox.
Megan previously said she was told that her surgeries were more googled than Caitlyn Jenner's and Kim Kardashian's, and that "savage things" had been written about her appearance.
The reality TV star recently admitted she gets more online hate from women than she does men with cruel trolls telling her she will 'never "get a husband.'
She hit back at the haters by saying she is far from ashamed of her colourful sex life, and wants to encourage more women to feel liberated in the bedroom.
Megan, who used to work as a erotic dancer, is said to be one of the highest earners on OnlyFans, reportedly raking in £800,000 a month.
