Meet the 20 golfers vying for three spots Sunday at the LIV Golf Promotions event

It all comes down to this.

On Saturday at Abi Dhabi Golf Club, 42 golfers teed it up over 18 holes vying for 20 spots come Sunday at the LIV Golf Promotions event. It took a playoff to settle the final spots, but the 20 players are set.

After Sunday’s 36-hole final, the top-three finishers will earn spots in the LIV Golf League for the 2024 season. Included in the 20-player field on Sunday include a former NCAA individual champion, a 2023 USGA champion and multiple former PGA Tour pros.

Here’s a look at the 20 players battling it out for three spots Sunday at the LIV Golf Promotions event.

Suteepat Prateeptienchai

Eight birdies on Saturday, including four on his final five holes, and Prateeptienchai, the long-time Asian Tour player, was the top finisher after Saturday.

Braden Thornberry

The 2017 NCAA champion tied for second after Saturday’s round, finishing at 6 under.

Chonlatit Chuenboonngam

Don’t let the glasses blind you. Chuenboonngam also fired a 6-under 66 on Saturday to advance.

The Englishman matched the previous two with 6-under 66 to easily earn his ticket to Sunday.

Morgan is trying to earn his way back on to the LIV Golf League, and he’s in Sunday’s finale after a 6-under 66.

The longtime Asian Tour player is ranked 767th in the world but has a chance come Sunday to earn his spot on a LIV Golf team after a 5 under on Saturday.

Jinichiro Kozuma

Kozuma also shot 5 under on Saturday to easily make it to Sunday.

Zach Bauchou

Bauchou, a former NCAA team champion with Oklahoma State in 2018 and Korn Ferry Tour member, shot 5-under 67 on Saturday.

Sampson Zheng

Zheng, a current senior at Cal who won the 2023 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball this summer and was medalist at the 2023 U.S. Amateur, is in to the final round after a 5-under 67.

Kieran Vincent

Kieran’s brother, Scott, has played previously on LIV Golf. He’s trying to make it a family affair.

Martin Trainer

The former PGA Tour member has advanced both days into the final day of play.

Poom Saksansin

Poom is an incredible name, and he’s on to Sunday’s 36-hole final.

From India, Bhullar is ranked 210th in the world and shot 4 under to advance.

Joel Stalter

Stalter birdied the second playoff hole to secure the final spot in Sunday’s field.

Kevin Yuan

Yuan was in a five-way tie at 3 under for 17th, and he advanced on the first playoff hole with a par.

Kevin Chappell

Another long-time PGA Tour pro, Chappell advanced with a par on the first playoff hole.
