Most retirees on Medicare will not see their full Social Security raise next year. The standard Part B premium, which is deducted automatically from most beneficiaries' monthly checks, is projected to rise $6.60 to $209.50 a month in 2027, according to the Medicare trustees' annual report, as summarized by AARP.
That figure is a projection, not a final bill. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will set the official premium later this fall. The Social Security Administration is scheduled to announce the 2027 cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) on Oct. 14, after the federal government releases September inflation data.
