Ticketmaster faced fresh woes as fans complained of difficulties buying tickets to see Busted vs McFly.
Tickets don’t go on general sale on Friday but O2 customers and other lucky fans with presale codes had the opportunity to get their hands on some early by logging on to Ticketmaster on Wednesday morning.
The two bands are set to play 14 dates across the UK next year, kicking off in Birmingham on September 16, which marks ten years since the debut McBusted tour.
They will then take in shows in London, Cardiff, Sheffield, Leeds, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham, Manchester, Dublin before wraping up at Belfast’s SSE Arena on October 21.
While many fans went in optimistic, they later took to social media to vent their frustration after being met by error messages and ultimately coming away ticketless.
Appealing to the online ticket vendor for help, one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "Busted V McFly presale has been on for 13 mins ans I'm still just getting spinning circles?? @TicketmasterIre @TMIrelandHelp."
Another facing similar difficulties fumed: "The busted vs mcfly presale is more stressful than eras tour tickets atm (sic)”.
While a third put in: "I was straight to buying option but kept getting error u307 and watched at my mates got their tickets, wasn't until I closed the app I came back and standing was sold out @TicketmasterUK."There have been similar scenes over the last year with other artists including Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and Oasis.
Speaking about the upcoming tour after it was announced last week, James Bourne from Busted said: "The whole tour is to find out who's a better band. Fans can decide. They can come and support their band and they might change their mind. It's going to be a fight to the death."
His bandmate Matt Willis then jokily added: "It has been a long time coming, this tour. Fans have wanted this. There's a massive crossover in the fanbases but secretly I think everyone likes Busted more."
Throwing down the gauntlet in a message of their own, McFly referred to Busted as “old men,” vowing: we are gonna blow them and their carers off the stage next year.”
Ticketmaster have been contacted for comment.
