A Miami woman on a Carnival cruise says she was repeatedly stopped from using her own Sail & Sign card because bartenders did not believe she was the person in her ID photo after she put on a wig. The incident was shared in a video posted by user Drea (@dreajgoestiny), which has drawn 45,800 views and more than 1,700 likes on TikTok.
In the video’s caption, the woman writes that Carnival “said I’m a fraud” and that she “had to take my wig off at the bar in front of everyone to receive my drinks” because staff said she did not look like her photo on her Sail & Sign card. She says she had paid for a drink package and could not get drinks after changing her hair. “This is discrimination!!!!” she writes, adding that she looks the same and was only wearing lipstick and a wig, with no other makeup.
