McDonald's introduces new burger and dips in menu shake-up - and brings back an old favourite

McDonald's has revealed what diners can expect in the latest shake-up to its menu, with some brand new additions making the cut this month alongside the return of some old favourites.

The fast food giant has confirmed that the popular Big Tasty is back from May 10, as well as the Big Tasty with Bacon. The classic burger comes with a beef patty smothered in the McDonald's 'one of a kind' Big Tasty Sauce, complete with Emmental cheese, tomato, shredded lettuce and onions.

Fans of the Big Tasty who want to kick things up a notch might enjoy the brand new Spicy Big Tasty, available from May 10, which puts a hot jalapeno twist on the Big Tasty sauce. And that's not the only new item landing on the menu next week, with some special sauces being introduced to mark the 40th birthday of the iconic McNugget, The Mirror reports.

There are four new limited edition dips coming to McDonald's restaurants - the first two are the Mega Hot Sauce dip and the highly-anticipated Garlic Mayo dip, which will both be available from May 10. They will be followed by the release of a Chipotle Mayo dip and a Creamy Ranch dip at the end of the month on May 31.

Anyone who has missed the fan-favourite Halloumi Fries will be thrilled to hear that these are making a comeback to the menu, after proving hugely popular when introduced to diners for the very first time last summer. And there will also be two new McFlurry flavours to look forward to, just in time to enjoy in the - hopefully - hot summer weather.

This month will see the return of the Wispa McFlurry, as well as the brand new Wispa Gold McFlurry, which is topped with a Cadbury caramel sauce. For any customers looking to save some cash on their McDonald's favourites, the fast food chain expanded its feedback scheme last month to enable diners to get even more menu items for less.

The fast food giant has a feedback service called Food for Thoughts, which invites diners to share their thoughts on their latest McDonald's experience in exchange for a voucher giving them money off their next order. All you need to participate is a McDonald's receipt from within the last 60 days, which has a 12-digit code at the top that you can enter into the Food for Thoughts website.

Customers who fill out a survey can now get a Big Mac, Filet-o-Fish, six Chicken McNuggets, a McChicken Sandwich, a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, or a McPlant alongside either medium fries or a side salad for £1.99. The deal results in savings of between £3.49 and £4.09 per meal, compared to if you bought the items at full price.
