THANE: A 30-year-old MBA working at a senior position with a software consultancy firm has been allegedly duped by her 'London-based suitor' of nearly Rs 6 lakh after he claimed to have been trapped by agencies at New Delhi airport, police said on Sunday.
The woman told Shil Daighar police that she met the conman who introduced himself as a London-based businessman on an online matrimonial website following which they became close and switched over their conversations on a social networking site.
The duo was in touch for the last two months online and had never met or seen each other. However, during one of their conversations, they decided to get married and planned to meet each other soon.
The accused had also recently told the victim that he was to come to India in June as he wanted to set up a hospital here. -
