Mazda’s New EV SUV Can Tell Pedestrians Whatever You Want—Even Naughty Words

  • The Mazda CX-6e is the automaker’s latest electric SUV.
  • Based on China’s Deepal S07, it has an external speaker that can deliver audio messages to pedestrians and cyclists.
  • The driver can input custom text, and there are no banned words.

Mazda’s last EV effort in the United States was short-lived and quite unimpressive. The 100-mile MX-30 crossover was very quirky and couldn’t quite offer the kind of driving range expected in the U.S., so it was discontinued after just 600 units reached customers in California.
