The Los Angeles Lakers have done fairly well so far in the NBA Summer League, winning their first two games before blowing a double-digit lead on Wednesday and losing to the Boston Celtics.
Their best player, dating back to the California Classic, has been Max Christie, the incoming second-year wing who has apparently improved and expanded his game. He has shot very well from 3-point range while taking on more responsibilities as a ball-handler and defensive stalwart.
He suffered a right hip strain in Wednesday’s game, which put his availability for the rest of summer league play in question. Unfortunately, he will not suit up on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Max Christie won’t play tonight for the Lakers against Memphis. He remains day to day with the right hip strain. https://t.co/LXDgYvTlfL
