Maura Higgins gave away Molly Mae's baby name to fans years ago with cryptic post

Jake Paul may have been the one to announce Molly-Mae Hague became a mum last week, but it seems Maura Higgins may have revealed her pal's baby name before the child was even conceived.

Former Love Island star Molly-Mae and boyfriend Tommy Fury, 23, officially introduced their newborn daughter to fans on Monday, following the PrettyLittleThing creative giving birth to little Bambi on January 23.

The happy couple managed to keep their child's moniker under wraps before announcing Bambi's name on Tuesday, but Molly-Mae's pal Maura possibly let the cat out of the bag almost two years ago!

The Irish beauty, who met Molly-Mae and Tommy in the Love Island villa back in 2019, teased what her pal planned to name her first child as they celebrated the new mum's birthday in 2021.

Molly-Mae marked her 22nd birthday receiving expensive gifts like a £3,850 Alhambra gold and malachite Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet from boxer beau Tommy.

But Maura, 32, had a slightly cheaper but heartfelt gift for friend - a Disney mug adorned with an image of the cartoon deer Bambi and his loyal pal Thumper.

"Only real ones know why this is special," teased Maura at the time.

"Love you," Maura added as she celebrated Molly-Mae's big day in May 2021.

Fast-forward almost two years and even those who aren't classed as Molly-Mae's "real ones" will now know how special the name Bambi is to the new mum.

Molly-Mae famously keeps her inner circle small but pal Maura always manages to make the cut - despite the pair once being love rivals.

When Maura first arrived in the Love Island villa as a bombshell in 2019, the model and TV personality had her eye on Molly-Mae's man.

Of course, Tommy only had eyes for Molly-Mae and Maura ended up reaching the final alongside the couple and her partner at the time, Curtis Pritchard.

Writing in her memoir last year, Molly-Mae reflects on the time period when her now-best friend fancied her the father of her firstborn child.

"Of course on Love Island she was interested in Tommy for a bit, but there is no issue there," the bestselling author writes regarding her friendship with Maura.

"After Tommy started getting closer with me, she said to me: 'Look, I'll never go near him again in that way, you know', and ever since then we've been best friends."

She continues to explain how she often visits the former Dancing On Ice contestant in Essex, and adds how she and Tommy are actually really good friends.

"They're like brother and sister - they make fun of each other 24.7," Molly-Mae adds, before revealing she often gets a lot of questions about how she can be comfortable with their friendship.

"When you have a friend like Maura you have that complete trust," she states, putting an end to a comments about the situation.
